BOWLSENGLAND COVID-19 CLUB GUIDE (updated 3rd June 2020)

Following the governments move to get a few sports open Bowls England have issued a comprehensive guide for any clubs wishing to open...... please please read and adhere as close as possible to the document.






The poster was designed by Warwickshire Council for Bowls England for clubs to print off and use.

A guidance to inform clubs of financial support that may be available to them during this period of uncertainty. This includes details of schemes available via Government at local and national level, plus information on the £20million Community Emergency Fund announced today by Sport England.

For any queries please contact the county secretary first rather than Bowls England.

If you are unable to contact the county secretary then contact your appropriate district secretary or any county official.

Bowls England has today launched its own YouTubechannel as part of its commitment to inform and entertain its members.

YouTube will provide Bowls England with a one stop shop for all its multimedia content where you will find the ‘Extra End’ Podcast, ‘Keep Active’ videos and other audio-visual content.

Some sad news to report, former County Assistant Secretary Don Draper sadly passed away yesterday. During his time in the sport Don was the County representative on the EBA which ultimately led to being an England International selector. In 1990 the county made him a Life Member and despite missing out on a Life Membership of the EBA hewas one of the first to receive the Bowls England Certificate of Merit, lets not forget all the wrok he put into the running of the County Presidents team.

Bowls England has announced the cancellation of all Celebration Matches for the 2020 season.The Board, which had already declared that fixtures until the end of June would not take place, resolved at its meeting on Wednesday 15th April that an early decision on the remaining matches was necessary due to concerns expressed by host clubs and players regarding the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.Bowls England will contact directly all clubs and associations that were due to host a match in 2020, plus all those who had been selected to represent Bowls England.

Following the unification of the male and female associations this is the new home of County bowls within Durham County.
Its aim is to provide bowlers access to all the latest news and results within Durham County.

The site will also publish the various selected County teams and will also provide a focal point for the various county competitions.

Well site continues to attract visitors so it must be doing its job, the lay out may be basic and isn't all singing and dancing but the whole idea is to get the information out rather than looking pretty and telling you nothing.

During 2019 the site has attracted 38,420 visitors which is a bit of a drop with 3 months to go. We did however see an increase in the peak May to August where we hit just over 25,500.

Our livescores feature continues to blossom with the number of visitors hitting over 14,276 during that four week spell.

Our Facebook page has gone up to 339 followers........... so all in all we are getting more news out than ever before.
