The Bowls England Amy Rose qualifier took place at Dunnington at the weekend. The format was different and turned into more like a Top Club format featuring 2 sets of singles, pairs, triples and fours.
A long day for all concerned but they were rewarded as it turned out to be a successful day for our young guns as they racked up three wins to secure a spot at the latter stages down Leamington Spa in August.
An opening 18-3 win over a combined Cumbrian/Yorkshire/Northumberland team was backed up with a 24-0 win against Lancashire.
That set up a final group decider against Lincolnshire which the girls held there nerve winning 39-36 collecting 20 points enroute.
A massive shout out to all the players from all four teams, they played the games in a great atmosphere and were a credit to themselves but most of all they enjoyed the day.
The Durham squad was Sophie Wood, Charlotte Williams (Silksworth Pumas), Abi Porter (Darlington RA), Rosie Stoker, Chloe Proctor, Charlotte Welsh (all Lyndhurst), Jessica Cornthwaite (Dairy Lane)
