Pelton Fell hosted another Academy get together with the aim to help build the confidence of the Amy Rose squad prior to their appearance at the National Championships in August. It was also a good opportunity to bring some of the boy’s White Rose together.
It was also a good opportunity for head of the academy former England International David Bolt to give a talk to the youngsters covering the basics of lead to skip, team spirit and some of his own experiences during his career. It wasn’t just the young’uns that sat in but the parents or guardians as well who at the end of the day are a vital cog in the whole set up.
After a short presentation the youngsters went out onto the green for a couple of practical sessions, these were overseen by David and the two new managers Jordan Harston and Tom Cairns, it was great to see the enthusiasm on display and the standard of play went up a notch. There are still sign’s of shyness but as the sessions progressed there were signs of those shackles being kicked off.
