Dear Club,
I am writing to ask for your support with the Durham County Council’s Playing Pitch & Outdoor Sport Strategy (PPOSS) which management consultancy Knight Kavanagh & Page (KKP) has recently been commissioned by the Council to produce. (Further information on the study can be found in the accompanying stakeholder letter).
In order to make this piece of work as accurate as possible, KKP aim to consider the views and issues of all clubs in the area. Please therefore find below a link to an online survey which we ask all clubs to complete in order to provide information on bowls currently in use, as well as club demand information, which will help to form an accurate picture of bowls within County Durham. This is your opportunity to put forward your views surrounding bowls in the area and experiences of your club.
Please click the link above and complete the survey on behalf of your club.
In addition, these are the clubs that we have already had responses for (and thus do not need sending the survey again):
- Barnard Castle BC
- Blackhall BC
- Chester-Le-Street BC
- Dunston Social BC
- Durham City BC
- Eldon Grove BC
- Hundens Park BC
- Hundens Park Ladies BC
- Hylton Colliery Welfare BC
- Pelton Fell BC
- South Hylton BC
- Sunderland BC
- West End (Stockton) BC
- Wolsingham BC
“This is a vital survey so far as the bowls community is concerned as it will give a picture of the needs of our clubs so far as their future survival and development is concerned. It is important for the future of the sport for all clubs to complete the survey for by not doing so it may give the picture to the consultants and the County Council that we are happy with the current position and also happy to accept whatever decisions they may reach on future funding and continuation of the maintenance of club greens and facilities. I cannot stress enough the need to complete this survey and would ask you to do so as a matter of urgency.” (Foster)
