Gosforth hosted the Walker Cup weekend and just like the lads at Redcar it was baltic. First up we tackled host county Northumberland but thanks to a big win in the pairs we got over the line 18-6. Next up was what was the group favourites Cumbria, a big shout out to young Sophie who beat Tina Smithson who won a national indoor title a month ago, the lasses put in a cracking performance to collect all 24 points and going into Day 2 were top of the shop.
Day 2 and our final game saw us face Lancashire knowing a win and they were home and hosed. Once again the lasses did the business winning all four disciplines to record back to back 24-0 win’s. That sealed the deal and secured our place at Leamington Spa to end a tremendous effort by everyone concerned.
